Introduction:
There are various type of reports in FBO One with varying degrees of complexity, in this article we explain how to create a new report using very basic system functionality.
The result of this exercise will be an excel output of raw data.
The example use case relates to 'How many aircraft movements are to/from a domestic airport?'.
Navigate to the report building page.
Use the menu search box to navigate to the Administration > Reporting > Reports.
Create a new report
Tips:
- Use the search box to search for the report name that you haven't yet created.
This will filter out the exisiting reports and prevent extra scrolling. - Choose your report name wisely and be sure to be as descriptive as possible in the remarks.
- Click the 'Add new' button.
- Complete the relevant data only, in this basic report this is limited to Name and Remarks
- Be sure to 'Save' your changes
Define a report query
In the 'Report Queries' section define the required report query via the 'Add new" button
For the purpose of this example report we are only required to enter the Query = 'Movements" and to tick the 'Show column names' box.
Insert the required report columns
In the 'Report Query Columns' section define the list of required columns via the 'Add new' button.
Select the required column from the 'Movement' query followed by 'Add new' to insert additional columns.
Tips:
- Column offset can be used to define in which column the data should be displayed. In excel the columns are presented alphabetically e.g A, B, C etc. but these are actually stored as numeric values whereby A=0, B =1, C=3 etc. FBO One will prefill these values.
- Row offset is similar to the above logic and relates to the row not column.
- Column width can be used to define the width of the column. For fields that contain long text e.g 'Debtor Name' the column width could be set to 35 or similar.
- Column alias can be used to rename the column header e.g Aircraft registration code to A/C Reg.
- Column format can be used to format the field as L = Left, R = Right or C = Centered
- Formula expression and QR code values are not relevant to basic reports
Test the report
Now that you have the basics configured you will find the report available on the 'Interactive reports' page
The result of this example report is below:
