If you are experiencing problems with your csv report output due to the presence of commas in some of the data (e.g address fields), you have the option to specify a different delimiter from the default in the report settings. This allows you to choose a character other than a comma to separate the data fields in your report. By doing so, you can avoid any conflicts caused by the commas within the data itself.
Procedure:
- Within the reports section, 'select' the report that you intend to modify.
- Click on the "edit" option for the query dataset(s).
- In the "Data provider settings" field, insert the following configuration string to alter the delimiter to a semi-colon:
- Separator=";"
- Select "save". The report will now generate output with semi-colon delimiters instead of the default. The only remaining task is to adjust the csv import settings in the receiving application.
