Introduction:

This calculator calculates aircraft parking duration minus the ground time during airport closure times.

For example:

The aircraft is on the ground for a total period of 24hrs, during which the airport is closed for a period of 6 hours. The total billable duration would be 18hrs (24hrs - 6 closed hours = 18hrs).

The airport opening times are maintained via the Airport opening lists page. It's important to note that this calculator only supports 1 closed period per day therefore, in the event of multiple closed periods, the total duration would be incorrect e.g. closure times between 09:00-10:00 and 17:00-19:00. 

The Airport opening list can be configured to include a number of 'free parking minutes'. In the event that the total parking duration is below this value then the parking quantity will be zero.

This calculator's default unit is per 24hrs, price calculator settings allow the unit to be configurable which allows for units such as per 12hrs, per hour, per 15mins, etc.

Example of calculator use:

Scenario:

• Parking is charged at EUR 2.10 per ton and per chargable hour.
• 6-hours free parking after arrival.
• The airport closure between the hours of 23:00-06:00LT.
• Aircraft MTOW 5 Tons.
• Flight schedule ATA 1-Jul 20:00 / ATD 4-Jul 10:00.
• Total parking duration = 62 hours.
• Calculator Settings: ChargingInterval=00:01:00; MultiplyByTons=true

Calculation:

1. Total Duration - Closed hours - Free Minutes = Chargable duration
2. Chargable duration * MTOW tons = Chargable unit
3. Chargable unit * Unit price
4. Sum: 5-Tons x EUR 2.10 x 35 hours = A Parking charge of EUR 367.50
