Introduction:
An FBO's logo normally appears in the screen header and is used in external communications and reporting. In this article, we go through the process to change logos in the system.
Contents:
- Step 1 - Identify where your Logo is used:
- Step 2 - Upload the new Logo to the template documents
- Step 3 - Check/Update the Application & FBO Location Logo settings
- Step 4 - Update the RDL Report Template Logo's
- Optional - Form of Payment specific receipt-logo
Step 1 - Identify where your Logo is used:
Check and make a note for each of the below locations where the logo is used. Use this data to create a plan outlining the changes required. If creating a new FBO Location, you can use an existing location as a reference.
- Screen Header
- Invoice & Receipt
- Handling Confirmation and Cancellation Emails
- Service Requests & Confirmation Emails
- RDL Reports - The details of the report or template may include a clue such as "w/logo". Of those that do contain a Logo, some will be hardcoded in the template document and others will use a database placeholder which uses the ReportLogo template. Refer to Step 4 below for more details. Your system admin or the FBO One support team can advise on the best options.
Location of your Logo Settings and Files
Depending on the number of FBO locations and branding of your organisation, you may have multiple 'settings' for logo's within FBO One.
Application Settings: These are global Logo settings and will apply if not defined in the FBO Location settings.
FBO Locations: Any Logo setting defined here will override the application setting for that FBO location only. If you wish to override the global setting for an FBO location:
- Navigate to 'FBO Locations'
- Select the FBO location from the dropdown list
- Select 'add new'
- Select the Logo setting you wish to add and set the value
Default setting names:
ReportHeaderImage
- logo for handling reports, receipts, invoices
(if more specific 'Report Logo' not set for each location in Administrations / Station / FBO Locations)LoginScreenLogo.png
- logo shown on the system login screen
EmailHeaderLogo
- logo shown in emails that are sent from the system
(Requires Default Email Layout for location to be set to 'Default Layout' in Administrations / Station / FBO Locations)
LocationNeutralScreenHeaderImage
- logo shown in the system header
(if more specific 'Screen Logo' not set for each location in Administrations / Station / FBO Locations)
-
PageHeaderLogo
- For compatibility only, replaced byLocationNeutralScreenHeaderImage
ReportHeaderLogo
- No longer in use
'Template Documents'
Template documents screen contains most of the files related to forms, reports, and images within the system. Logo files are stored here. If you have multiple brand or FBO Logo's, its advisable to use a naming convention to make it easier to identify the correct files without having to download and view them. i.e use the FBO shortname as a prefix.
Step 2 - Upload the new Logo to the template documents
Your existing logo file should already be stored in the template documents. You may have several different logo's or resolutions for different purposes. A common size in FBO One is approximately 150px wide in a fixed ratio. We recommend you view the existing logo(s) format as a guide for size.
Updating the logo's is not a difficult task but should be planned and checked at each step in case there is a mistake that needs to be reverted. It's highly recommended that you try it in your test system first and confirm if you are not familiar with the process.
- Go to the location of the Logo setting you wish to change.
- For an FBO Location setting, select edit for the FBO location you want to change and search or scroll down until you see the logo settings
- For Application Settings, search for 'logo' to find the global settings.
- Note: The setting may not exist if its a new FBO location Logo for example. Use the 'add new' button to add the setting and overide the global setting.
- Take note of the setting value
- Open the 'template documents' screen and search for "logo"
- Here you should see all of the available logo templates, including those listed in the settings.
- To update an existing Logo template:
- Click 'select' and then 'update' for the logo you want to change
- Upload the new file and save.
- Check the changes.
- To add a new Logo template:
- Select 'Add new'
- Upload the new file and save
- Check that the corresponding setting is set to the new filename.
- Check the changes.
Step 3 - Check/Update the Application & FBO Location Logo settings
After making changes to the logo files make sure the settings are correct and map to the correct template per your initial mapping plan. If the Logo displayed is incorrect when checked:
- Make sure the template document is the correct Logo and name.
- Check the settings again.

Step 4 - Update the RDL Report Template Logo's
The changes listed above will not update RDL based reports with embedded logo's. You can identify these reports by checking them after you have updated the ReportLogo setting. The process is as follows to update:
- Go to template documents
- Search for ".rdl"
Note: this would be a good opportunity to remove any unused reports.
- Select and download a template
- Update the logo image if required
- Note: You will need Microsft Report Builder installed on your PC to edit and update RDL files. If you are not familiar with this process, the FBO One support team can provide guidance.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Before making changes, make sure the logo is an embedded image. If the logo area presents as a blank box it's most likely an embedded link to the logo template and will be updated through the ReportLogo fbo location setting.
The Example below is the receipt and invoice template.
- When finished editing, 'Save as' adding "W_Logo..." to the filename for future reference.
- Use 'Select' and 'update' for the template document.
- It's highly recommended to confirm you use the correct process in your test system first and run each report you change in case there is an issue with the file. An issue with the template file can prevent reports from running.
Optional - Form of Payment specific receipt-logo
In the form of payment a Logo can be set as well. If this form of payment is used on the order, the logo set in Administration --> Forms of Payment will override the logo set in the FBO Location on the receipt and invoice and not on the Handling Confirmation or Handling Request.
