FBO One can be used to produce passenger immigration forms or visa request forms. You enter the passenger and crew information and FBO One generates the form with the passenger information as well as the flight information. For quickly entering passenger and crew information, FBO One supports reading passports using a mobile hand held device.

Mobile passport scanner application
This article describes how to setup and use the mobile passport scanner.
Requirements
In order to be able to scan a passport you need:
- a mobile device operating either Android or IOS system
- a functioning camera
- MRZ Scanner Pro app installed. (Downloaded from your mobile device app store or from their official site: mrzscanner.com)
- UsePassportScannerApp permission must be enabled for the user of the application
Note: For trial purposes there MRZ Scanner Free application will work well, however there is a limit on the number of permitted scans/exports before advertisements will kick in)
How to setup the passport scanner app
After installing the application on your mobile device the relevant information is required to link the application to your FBO One system. This information contains:
- HTTPS Address - This is the url used to access FBO One e.g https://xxxxxxxxx.fbo.one. In this scenario this address also requires that MRZ is specified along with the relevant FBO e.g https://xxxxxxx.fbo.one/mrz/ams This ensures that the passport scanned goes to the correct system and location.
- Basic Auth Username - This is the username of the FBO One user account to be used for audit log purposes. For large volume FBO's (frequently handling flights with large pax count simultaneously) using group user accounts it is recommended that a dedicated user is created for each scanning tool e.g Scanner1, Scanner 2 as this will facilitate the assignment of crew/pax value to the correct flight.
- Basic Auth Password - This is the password to the user account mentioned above

How to easily scan and export using the passport scanner app
By clicking the red icon in lower right corner, the default camera app is opened and the app is ready to scan the passport:
Once a passport is scanned you can either save it to your scan history or directly send it to server. The scan history is useful to scan multiple passports and send them all together to FBO One
Next step would be to click the upper right icon, in order to select the way the scanned passports are shared
If scanned passports are successfully sent to the FBO One server the following screen will be shown
Otherwise a specific error message is shown.
Error messages returned by FBO One:
How to allow the passport scanner app to send data to FBO One
In order to be able to fully send scanned passports to FBO One, the user doing this must be granted permission to do so.
This permission is granted by assigning the "UsePassportScannerApp" to the user account that is also using the mobile app.
This can be achieved in FBO One via Administration > Security > Roles:
Or via Administration > Security > Users
How to use the scanned passports in FBO One
Once scanned passports are sent to the FBO One server and can be seen in the crew/pax tab of the order.
Each scanned passport can be assigned a crew / pax type and then linked to the relevant flight sector (Inbound, Outbound or both).
Once the passport is assigned to a flight sector it will be marked as "assigned" and will no longer be listed in the list of scanned passports, unless the "Include already assigned passports" checkbox is clicked. Already assigned passports can also be searched using the Crew/Pax search box.
Scanned passports in relation to flight legs
If no scanned passport exists, then the section itself is not displayed
If scanned passports exist, but the order has no valid flight legs, then the section is also not shown
If scanned passports exist, but only the Inbound flight leg is valid, then within the scanned passports grid only the "In" checkbox is available/displayed
If scanned passports exist, but only the Outbound flight leg is valid, then within the scanned passports grid only the "Out" checkbox is available/displayed
Scanned passports in FBO One's admin section
By default every scanned passport that is sent to FBO One server is kept in FBO One for 1 hour.
This can be changed by entering the desired value in minutes for the "PassportScanningAutoDeleteInMinutes" application setting:
Already scanned passports can be viewed/deleted from the designated administration page.
A edit function is also available, but we encourage to simply delete a non-valid scan and rescan/reupload the valid one.
